In the middle of last week a Northwest Airlines flight overshot the Minneapolis airport by 150 miles before the crew realized the error and turned the plane around. Leading to the investigation by NTSB was a 78 minute period of radio silence that started as the plane transited the Denver area shortly before 8pm Eastern. The flight originated in San Diego. Radio contact was not reestablished until after the aircraft had overflown Minneapolis.

I came across this while studying up on H1N1 . According to one article , the H1N1 mortality rate is 1 per 1,000 infected with 40 of the infected needing hospitalization.
